I was super impressed with how well this picked up how many lightning strikes that were near my home. In one day, the AcuRite Lightning Detector picked up about 28 strikes within 4 miles. The small device works great and takes 2 AAA batteries that include the packaging, this has a Pocket-sized with no-slip clip for portability.

Where we live this is always nice to have when the bad weather turns up. The Siren sound is loud! This also has a docking station to listen to the weather alerts or you can install 3 AA batteries that are not included in the packaging and have this ready in case the power goes out you’re prepared in the event of bad weather. I really love this so handy to clip on you and carry with you.
